We would like to congratulate our colleague JProf. Dr. Megan Maruschke on her award for outstanding commitment to PhD supervision! The award was presented by Rector Prof. Dr. Eva Inés Obergfell on 28 January in the Old Senate Hall of our University.
The Rector emphasised that it was not only the outstanding achievements that were being honoured, but also the people who had made these outstanding contributions.
Megan Maruschke is co-spokesperson of the Leipzig Graduate School Global and Area Studies and a member of the International Max Planck Research School 'Global Multiplicity: A Social Anthropology for the Now' - a collaboration between the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle (Saale), Leipzig University, the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
In both PhD programmes, Megan Maruschke not only supervises a large number of PhD candidates, but is also committed to the further development and optimisation of the PhD structures, which primarily benefit PhD candidates from abroad.
Many congratulations!
