Our colleague Karen Silva Torres defended her Dissertation

We congratulate our colleague Karen Silva Torres for successfully defending her doctoral dissertation this month in the Department of Anthropology of Leipzig University. 
Silva Torres presented her dissertation on the topic "A sense of the public interest. Journalism and the rise of Ecuadorian Public Media in Digital Times", which is an engaging ethnographic analysis of the work of editors and reporters within a changing environment of national and regional politics in the mentioned Latin American country.
Karen Silva Torres is a lecturer at GESI and a member of the Coordination team of our MA and PhD programme Global Studies with an emphasis on Peace and Security in Africa.
