MaryAnne Iwara, PhD candidate of our joint programme Global Studies with an emphasis on Peace and Security in Africa, has received a Leadership Fellowship from the Mo Ibrahim Foundation and will be hosted by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation (MIF) awards each year three fellowships to young professionals from Africa with relevant work experience and a master’s degree. As one of the three fellows selected for 2023, Ms. Iwara will gain technical and leadership skills while contributing directly to research and policy design for the next 12 months.

We congratulate MaryAnne Iwara who is currently working on her dissertation titled "Competition, Social Protection, and Global Conditions: The National Social Investment Programmes (NSIPs) in Nigeria."
