We are pleased to invite you to a guest lecture of our guest Beza Dessalegn on Tuesday, 4 June, at 2 pm at the ReCentGlobe (venue: Strohsackpassage, Nikolaistraße 6-10, 04109 Leipzig, 5th floor, room 5.55).

Beza Dessalegn is an assistant professor at the Institute for Peace and Security Studies/ Addis Ababa University and a researcher on human rights, federalism and regionalism, local governments, and multilevel governance.

He will share his research results and perspective on “Accommodation, empowerment and marginalization in Ethiopia’s ethno territorial federalism”.

Furthermore, we would like to call your attention to two interesting guest lectures and the opportunity to engage with two top-notch scholars in the context of the lecture series of the Institute of African Studies. On 12 June 2024 at 11h15 (venue: GWZ, Beethovenstraße 15, 04107 Leipzig, Room 2.215) two presentation will be given:  Temitope Oriola (University of Alberta) "Deadly resistance and female suicide terrorism" AND Olisa Godson Muojama (University of Ibadan) "Frontier Neighbourhoods in Anglo-German Colonial Encounters in West Africa, 1884-1919".
